Blues on the Hill is an annual concert series that features national and international Blues Music Artists. The event has been a family oriented cultural event in Harlingen for the last 12 years. Blues on the Hill was started in May 2000 as a collaboration between Tom Wilson, the late Parks and Recreation Director, Jeff Lyssy and Mike Jaramillo from Harlingen Parks and Recreation, and Chris Maley from Public Radio 88.1FM. Blues on the Hill is FREE to the public. The event is supported by the generous donations from local businesses and volunteers. In the past, there was three shows a year in May, June and August. Due to public demand, a fourth show in November was added in 2012.
